Dr. Lisa Haines, HBSc

My name is Lisa Haines. I am an associate veterinarian at the Fifth Avenue Veterinary Clinic. I attended the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph and graduated as part of the 2005 OVC Red Foxes! I have practiced in several different small and mixed animal practices over the last 16 years and have developed a passion for Fear Free Practice, pain management and anesthesia. Now that I am Fear Free Certified, I plan to gain a certification in Veterinary Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine with the long-term goal of becoming certified in Veterinary Analgesia and Rehabilitation.

I love the fact that every day that I come to work, I have the opportunity to make the lives of you and your pets better in some way. Whether it is to make your companion’s visit a little less stressful, soothe pain, diagnose and treat an illness, educate you to better care for and understand your pet, or to put a peaceful end to incurable suffering, every day, I can give something back to the pets that give us their everything.

When I am not working on my four-legged passion in the clinic, I am at home with my husband, 3 children, Bengal cat Kiegan and our Boerboel, Makalo. We enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, camping and cottaging, snowboarding, gaming, gardening and bird watching together whenever we can!
